Senior Developer

The Role

We’re looking for a passionate and motivated developer with a desire to grow with the company. Whilst the role will start as a Senior Developer, we have clear career paths for individuals looking to progress their career and take on more responsibilities.

Candidates that can demonstrate their passion, show experience and proven abilities within development will thrive at OneBot and will be in prime position to progress their career in a young and ambitions software house.

Responsibilities

  • Review the Product Backlog, ensure they are well written and that they fulfil the acceptance criteria
  • Story Point User Stories in the Product Backlog
  • Refactor or optimise codebases to a higher standard
  • Introduce new technologies that can be used by the whole team.
  • Mentoring junior and mid-level developers
  • Implement secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities, mitigate security risks and write clean and maintainable code to meet quality standards
  • Participate in peer code reviews to identify and resolve defects.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • Document software design, architecture, and development processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in software development processes.

Key Skills

  • Proven ability to build applications using Node.js, MongoDB, React
  • Experience managing Product Teams and resource allocation
  • Experience with AI, Machine Learning and Software Delivery.

  • Experience of people management within an agile software development environment
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of agile practices including how, why, when and where to apply them
  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to self-manage within a changing environment
  • Passion for delivering high quality software solutions

Salary Brackets

We publish skills and attributes matrix to all employees, allowing for open and transparent position, and pay discussions. No matter where you work in OneBot, you will know what we expect and what to expect from others. Using the published skills and attribute matrix, employees have a clear path to follow to earn a promotion or pay rise.

Team leads will host annual pay reviews with all employees, providing a platform for the less confident employees to discuss pay without feeling stressed.

Your starting salary will be based on your experience and the skills you can provide. Salary £40,000 – £50,000

Additional Information
